try this to get rid of cellulite. [hint: it involves coffee]

cellulite. one little word that strikes fear and loathing into women everywhere. cellulite knows no bounds. it’s an equal-opportunity parasite, leaching onto bodies both big and small. in fact, 90% of women have it! it doesn’t matter how toned you are, cellulite will find you and hitch a ride on your thighs. but we at fitlosophy are fans of loving our bods - so let's embrace the not-so-lovely, but oh-so-common hail damage and do something about it!

enter: coffee. yes, this heavenly source of caffeination can be used for some serious exfoliation, relaxation + rejuvenation. how, you ask? keep reading.

what would you say if we told you that we found an easy, all-natural, do-it-yourself way to reduce the appearance of cellulite that’s good enough to eat? and when i say this is good enough to eat, i mean this is literally good enough to eat. like, every single ingredient can be found in your kitchen pantry good-enough-to-eat (annnnd it features our chief fitlosopher’s fave, coffee).

behold: the homemade vanilla-coconut coffee sugar scrub! not only is coconut oil extremely affordable and moisturizing, it’s naturally anti-fungal and antibacterial...not to mention it smells completely amazing. antioxidant-loaded coffee grounds (which also smell pretty amazing) increase collagen production and stimulate blood-vessel dilation, plumping the skin and thus (temporarily) diminishing the appearance of those dreaded derriere dimples. cane sugar is a natural, non-irritating exfoliant, while a touch of cinnamon brings blood to the surface of the skin, also providing a plumping effect. sounds like a pretty sweet deal to us! so what are you waiting for?? get in that kitchen and whip up a batch, then wave buh-bye to that cellulite!

[vanilla-coconut coffee sugar scrub] makes about 1 cup

  • 1/2 cup ground organic coffee
  • 1/2 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup organic coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

mix together all ingredients + store in a lidded jar in the shower. scrub this caffeinated concoction on your body for an all-natural, yummy-smelling, exfoliating scrub that seriously smooths the bod. and if you happen to sneak a taste? no problem - it's all natural!

so what’s your favorite DIY beauty product?? share in the comments!

Sounds like I’ll love how I smell afterwards! I like to add a squeeze of fresh citrus juice to my oil-based facial wash. I feel like it helps my skin absorb more vitamin C for healthy tissues and anti-inflammatory boosts.
