after struggling with her weight for years and gaining about 100 pounds over the course of her college career, leah was the heaviest she’d ever been. she tried a couple fad diets and cleanses, but nothing ever stuck. after a while, she half-heartedly convinced herself that she was happy with her weight, proud even - until she was a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding. unable to bring herself to even look at the wedding photos, and tired of not having enough energy to join her very active boyfriend on walks, runs or gym sessions, she decided it was time to make a change.
she started hitting the gym before work each morning and began shifting her eating habits. the weight started falling off, but she needed something to track her progress. a visual learner, her fitbit app just wasn’t cutting it. she needed something concrete in front of her to look at, to reference, but she also wanted something portable that would allow her to easily track her food and exercise. enter fitbook. and the rest, as they say, is history.
fitbook in her own words:
“once i got fitbook, i realized what an asset it was. not only could i easily track workouts andfood, but i could hold myself accountable with weekly and monthly goals. it reminds me that even little accomplishments each week are worth celebrating, because i am worth celebrating. it also holds me accountable for sticking to my weekly plan. it is so easy to get to the end of the week and just want to sleep in, or skip the gym, but honestly, having my goals in front of me and having to face them once a week is a great motivator - it keeps me honest.
before i got serious about weight loss, i tried a couple of fad diets like 21-day cleanses and apple cider vinegar drinks, but i finally figured it out. there is no quick fix. fitness and overall health are a lifestyle. you truly have to change and be better to your body. with fitbook, i'm not dieting - i am simply logging things in a methodical way. with fitbook, it’s so personal. i track what i do and what i eat for ME. i love the inspiring quotes and that it tells me exactly what i should be logging. so many diets or programs involve sharing with others, but with fitbook, i have to be honest with myself, and i think this has not only helped me lose weight, but has helped me become a stronger person mentally. i never would've thought this little book would help me grow into such an incredibly strong person.”
