adults only: spiked pops for healthy hearts

can we whine about something for a minute? we wish everyone gave our beloved vino the r-e-s-p-e-c-t it so deserves. not only do the many antioxidants in red wine keep your heart healthy + assist you in fighting off colds, the resveratrol helps your brain stay sharp and has even been shown to inhibit cancerous-cell growth. all these superpowers wrapped up in one little tasty, ruby-red package?? we’ll TAKE it! because, well...wine NOT?! (yes, we went there)

now, as with anything, moderation is key, so make sure you limit your intake to 5 oz (wanna be super-duper sure you’re pouring a proper serving? when in doubt, weigh it out with our little red food scale!). even better news: we’ve figured out a foolproof way for you to keep those portions in check effortlessly - and let’s just say it’s pretty darn cool. (wink wink.)

coupling your beloved glass of red vino with dark chocolate is a winning (heart-healthy) combo that we are honestly obsessed with. ‘member that time we cooked up some red wine hot chocolate over the holidays?? yeah, this is like that, but frozen. we used eating evolved dark chocolate, because it’s lightly sweetened with unrefined coconut sugar. plus, it’s 72% dark chocolate - which means it’s positively packed with oodles + oodles of heart-healthy antioxidants. [sorry kids, this these popsicles are for adults only!]

[cabernet fudge pops]

makes 4(ish)

1 cup cabernet sauvignon (zinfandel or pinot noir will work too)
1 ½ cups chopped dark chocolate
1 ½ cups unsweetened nut milk

  1. bring wine up to a simmer over medium-low heat in a small saucepan + allow it to reduce by about half, about 10 - 15 minutes.
  2. stir in the chocolate until completely smooth + melted, then stir in milk.
  3. pour into popsicle mold, pop in some wooden sticks + freeze overnight.
like what you see here? oh there’s more where that came from. stay tuned for a sneak peek of our upcoming 6-week program for exclusive access to more wine pops like this + a whole bunch of other healthy recipes + workouts. in the meantime, when you really just need to wine(d) down from a long, hard day, enjoy this hearty (spiked) pop!
