the baking mistake you're probably making [recipe]

what's the tiny little baking mistake coming between you and impeccable baked goods every single time? two words: food scale. if you don't weigh it out, you'll always have that doubt. when it comes to baking, weighing your ingredients is the only way to ensure consistently delicious results each + every time

think baking = big mess? think again! thanks to the handy-dandy tare function on our snazzy little digital food scale, baking up this batch of pumpkin protein muffins is as easy as 1-2-3. 

[1] choose your unit of measure (oz, grams, ml)

[2] set your mixing bowl on top of the scale + hit tare to zero out the weight

[3] add each ingredient directly to the bowl until you reach desired weight (example: 1 cup whole wheat flour = 4 oz), hitting tare between each ingredient 


[pumpkin spice protein muffins]

makes 12 muffins

  • 2 eggs
  • 15 oz canned pumpkin
  • ¼ cup (57 g) unsweetened almond milk 
  • 1 ½ cups (180 g) vanilla protein powder
  • ¼ cup (6g) stevia-in-the-raw
  • ½ tsp (3g) baking powder
  • ½ tsp (3g) cinnamon
  • ½ tsp (3g) allspice
  • ½ tsp (3g) salt
  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. whisk together the eggs, pumpkin + almond milk, then mix in dry ingredients.
  3. pour into a muffin tin lined with baking cups.
  4. bake for 25-30 minutes, then remove from oven + let cool for about 5-10 minutes.
  5. enjoy 1 warm, then store the rest in an airtight container, or freeze for later!

and the best part? no mess! no clutter of multiple measuring cups, tablespoons + mixing bowls strewn about. and of course at the end, you'll have a dozen delicious protein-packed muffins for healthy snacks! sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
