not every fitbook transformation is a dramatic weight-loss success story. kelly spent her teenage years struggling with body image and an eating disorder, often bingeing and then taking laxatives. as she got older, she decided it was time to clean up her act and repair her unhealthy relationship with food, learning as much as she could absorb about health and fitness, and eventually pursuing a career in public health. still, there were some gaps that needed filling. she wanted a better way of keeping track of her progress.
when fitbook came highly recommended by a trusted industry source, kelly decided to give it a go. as a fitness professional, she’s always trying different workouts - Insanity, ChaLEAN Extreme, Smart Girls Do Dumbbells and everything in between. she loves that fitbook plays so well with others, working in conjunction with any and all diet and exercise programs.
and while kelly was already pretty happy with her weight, she still lost 4 pounds and about 3% body fat in just six weeks using fitbook lite. but even better: she finally found a tool that helped her fill in the gaps and achieve her health goals simply by shifting her focus.
fitbook in her own words:
“I heard about fitbook in Chalene Johnson’s book Push. I was looking for a way to track my new healthier habits, and since I trust her advice, I figured I’d give it a shot. I’ve been hooked ever since.
The handwriting component plays a huge part for me. I had tried apps like MyFitnessPal, but none of them really resonated with me. I feel a much greater connection to tracking my food intake and fitness when I take the time to handwrite it.
I am less concerned with calories + pay more attention to what I eat in terms of how it makes me feel and function. I’ve even identified food sensitivities from paying attention to how I feel after my meals and documenting what I notice in my fitbook. I'm more aware and mindful of my overall health in general, and for that I think it’s been most valuable.”
for kelly, her fitbook transformation has been about mindfulness and shifting focus, so while she did still shed pounds and body fat, it’s her newfound awareness that’s been most empowering. way to go(al), kelly! we absolutely love hearing that we’ve made a profound impact on our #fabfitbookers, even when weight-loss isn’t the goal.
