#fabfitbooker wayne: never never never give up.

wayne hasn’t had the easiest road to travel in life. a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, he has been sober for nearly 27 years, after an overdose nearly took his life. still, the effects of years of abuse, coupled with poor nutrition and struggles with his weight, had taken their toll, resulting in gallbladder removal, three surgeries to repair the inside of his drug-battered nose, osteoarthritis, a full hip-replacement and hypertension.

wayne was intent on reversing the damage that had been done. he tried working with trainers and pulling two-a-days at the gym, but life always got in the way, and with no one to keep him accountable, he invariably slipped back into the same old routine: convenience eating and skipping workouts. after years and years of yo-yoing with diet pills and fat burning supplements and cleanses and starving himself, wayne reached his tipping point in December 2014 when he started suffering from severe stomach pains. after ending up in the ER, he discovered that neither his liver, nor his kidneys were functioning properly, all the result of a bad diet and severe weight gain.

it was time to take control. wayne consulted with naturopathic doctor Cecilia Ho and began his journey toward health. within a few short months, through her program, which included a diet overhaul and strict accountability through weekly weigh-ins and food logs, he was down 50 pounds and countless inches. then it was self-maintenance time, which is when wayne found fitbook.  

fitbook in his own words:

“fitbook allows me to keep track of meals, workouts and goals for the week. It keeps me accountable to myself and to Dr. Ho, which allows me to stay on track. It’s simple to use because everything is laid out for me. All I have to do is write. It’s compact enough to carry around everywhere I go. It has become my journal.

My goals now are simple: take it one day at a time, one meal at time, and stay true to myself, Dr. Ho, my family and my fitbook.

I have a lot more energy, I sleep well and my workouts are consistent. I find I don't have to work as hard without the extra weight. I can walk up and down stairs without feeling like I'm going to have a heart attack, and my hypertension is under control. The fitbook has been a godsend for me in helping me achieve and maintain my goals. Thank you for all you guys do."
